Max Ferdinand Richter, Estate Riesling

£25.00

Tasting Note

Mosel Riesling at its most joyful. Fresh peach, raspberry and elderflower on the nose. A gentle touch of sweetness lifts the palate, but it feels light and lively, with a mineral texture and bright, elegant acidity that leave the finish clean and dry. Just 10% alcohol and very zesty.

Drink it with: sushi, or lightly spiced Asian dishes.

The Winemaking

Hand-picked and gently pressed, then fermented slowly at cool temperatures in traditional old oak 'fuder' casks and aged there for a few months. The old wood adds texture, not oaky flavour.

The Vineyards

Young vines replanted in two of the Mosel's most famous steep slate slopes, Wehlener Sonnenuhr and Graacher Himmelreich. Once the vines reach 15 years old, the estate will bottle them under the vineyard names.

The Producer

The Richter family have farmed in the Middle Mosel for around 300 years, working 16 hectares of steep slopes by hand with low yields and natural fertilisers. Their wines are built to be enjoyed young and to age beautifully.

The Details

  • Vintage: 2025
  • ABV: 10%
  • Size: 75cl
