Tasting Note
Austrian Riesling is drier and more generous than most people expect, and this one is a joy. White peach, apricot and white flowers on the nose, then ripe, juicy fruit on the palate, all held together by clean, precise acidity. Light on its feet at 11.5%, but there's plenty going on.
Drink it with: roast chicken, sea bass, pasta or fresh asparagus.
The Winemaking
Fermented in stainless steel for 15–25 days, with no malolactic fermentation and no oak, then eight weeks on the lees. Gently fined and cold-stabilised. The winery is energy neutral, powered by its own biogas plant and solar panels.
The Vineyards
Hand- and machine-picked early in the morning from vines over 15 years old in the Weinviertel. Loess, clay and granite soils, a cool continental climate and south-facing terraces at 230–300 metres, all certified sustainable.

Funkstille is a range made with a 16th-generation family producer in Niederösterreich, bringing Austria's classic grapes to a wider audience with bold labels and seriously well-made wine.
