Tasting Note
Austria's signature grape, done brightly and without fuss. Ripe pear, fresh citrus and a subtle exotic edge on the nose, then melon and grapefruit on a dry, juicy palate. The finish is zippy and refreshing, with that little white-pepper tingle Grüner is famous for. An everyday white that punches well above its weight.
Drink it with: roast chicken or turkey, grilled fish, or a big green salad.
The Winemaking
Fermented in stainless steel for 15–25 days, with the temperature allowed to creep up towards the end. No malolactic fermentation and no oak, just eight weeks on the lees for a little texture. The winery runs on biogas and solar and produces more energy than it uses.
The Vineyards
Vines over 15 years old in the Weinviertel, Lower Austria, on loess, clay and granite. Cool continental climate, south-facing terraces at 230–300 metres, and certified sustainable farming, down to home-made fertiliser and cover-crop seed.

Funkstille is a five-wine range made with a 16th-generation family producer in Niederösterreich, designed to showcase Austria's classic grapes in a fun, modern way. Great labels, serious wine underneath.
