Tasting Note
A robust red with a big personality. Bright red with purple hues, small red and purple fruits and a touch of liquorice. Full-bodied and well structured, with soft, well-integrated tannins.
Drink it with: roasts, cured meats and semi-aged cheeses.
The Winemaking
Fermented on the skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel, with full malolactic. No oak.
The Vineyards
Certified organic Montepulciano from the Tullum area, farmed for low yields.
The Producer
Feudo Antico sits in Tullum, Italy's smallest DOP, in Abruzzo. Fifteen hectares of native varieties are farmed for low yields, and the cellar uses no wood at all, only amphora, concrete and glass, to keep the fruit pure. When replanting Pecorino in 2013, they uncovered the ruins of a Roman villa.
