Tasting Note
Pale straw with a green glint. Dry and mouthwatering, with a salty edge, gentle spice and bright citrus, finishing crisp and zippy.
Drink it with: fish, shellfish, white meats and fresh cheeses.
The Winemaking
Hands-off, gravity-fed winemaking. A few hours' skin contact, then about four weeks' wild-yeast fermentation in underground steel tanks and two weeks on the lees with stirring. Unfined and lightly filtered.
The Vineyards
Granite hillsides overlooking the Ría de Arousa in the Val do Salnés, all within 8km of the winery. South-facing pergolas lift the grapes off the ground, away from damp Atlantic air.
The Producer
El Camarón is Alliance Wine's own Albariño, made with a winery in the Val do Salnés. The name is a nod both to shrimp (it's made for seafood) and to the flamenco legend Camarón de la Isla.
