Tasting Note
Alpine white wine: fresh, crisp and made for mountain food. Pale white-gold with green flashes, with fresh almond, hawthorn blossom and citrus on the nose. Lively on the palate, finishing with a mineral streak and a twist of orange zest. Light, bright and perfectly balanced.
Drink it with: fondue or raclette, naturally. Also lovely with trout, white fish or a cheeseboard.
The Winemaking
Hand-harvested and pneumatically pressed, then fermented with native yeasts at a controlled 20°C for around three weeks. No oak.
The Vineyards
Jacquère is Savoie's own grape, with tight bunches of thick-skinned berries. The Perriers' vines are around Les Marches, Chapareillan and Myans, below Mont Granier, on calcium-rich scree soils.
The Producer
The Perrier family have been growing vines in the Alps for more than seven generations. They've stayed loyal to local grapes like Jacquère and to a distinctive, strongly regional house style.
