Tasting Note
Honest, everyday claret, the kind that makes a Tuesday-night dinner feel a bit special. Merlot-led and fruity, with plenty of blackberry and a lift of lighter red berries. Soft tannins and a balanced, harmonious finish. Drinking nicely now with a few years in bottle behind it.
Drink it with: a roast, a root-vegetable gratin, or simply good bread and a green salad.
The Winemaking
80% Merlot with 10% each of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Vinified and aged in stainless steel in a recently renovated historic winery, so the fruit stays front and centre. No oak.

The Entre-deux-Mers, the rolling country between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers, on the classic clay and limestone soils of the region.
The Producer
The Comte de Gironde team focus on showing the character of Entre-deux-Mers, blending modern equipment with traditional Bordeaux methods.
